Charles "Bubba" Newton
Bubba was born and raised on a steady stream of Bluegrass and Country music, along with a variety of local talent in the rural southern Maryland countryside. His influences run from Johnny Cash to the Beatles to Miles Davis. He started playing music at the age of 6, and by 17 he had started his own band called The Quiet Riders. In late '79 at the age of 21, he moved to South Florida to make it his home. Keeping himself busy doing sound for various bands, by the mid 80's he found musicians to form a Blues band and jam with. In 1990 he met Pete Lavezzoli and formed a Dylan cover band called Blood On The Tracks. In the summer of 1991 he helped form Crazy Fingers which has single-handedly helped to keep the jamband and Dead scene alive in South Florida! In 2001 he helped form The Grass Is Dead.
