A Message from the Management November 11, 2004
As some of you know, this week has seen the final shows with our brother Billy Gilmore. Billy is off to PA to further his musical career with Hickory Project. The band, the management, the countless fans, friends and family, would like to say that we will miss you Billy... and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. I don't think it's possible to express here what we are all no doubt sharing as we watch you move forward... but it's a mixture of pride, excitement, happiness... and yet a lil bit of sadness that we won't be seeing your zany smile on a regular basis. It's been a wonderful ride to see you grow and progress as a musician, your gift should be shared with the world... and we all look forward to seeing your name grow with your talent.
From all of us who have seen you for years, and those of us who have only just discovered you recently...
Good luck Billy! We love you and wish you the very best the world has to offer!
And of course The Grass Is Dead will still be playing in some form or another, it is not the end! There will be more shows to come, when schedules allow. So, please keep in touch and stay informed!!!

Billy Gilmore has had the opportunity to join up with the Hickory Project on a full time basis. He and his lovely wife Rachel will be moving to Wellsboro, PA right away. Although this is a wonderful opportunity, friends and family will be missed tremendously. The incredible chance to play original music, festivals galore, and travel the world is an offer they could not pass up!!! They will of course be back around now and then, and you can keep up with Billy's schedule by checking this site, his own site at www.billygilmore.com and Hickory Project.

Our very own Brent Hopper played an intimate 2.5 hour solo set at the Bamboo Room last night, with no break!!! The enthusiastic audience was treated to a variety of originals from his new CD and some old favorites. Likened to the early days of Ben Harper and Keller Williams... Brent took to the stage like with energy that was felt throughout the entire long set... joking with the audience and even taking some requests. We look forward to seeing more of him in this inspiring atmosphere soon! Be sure to cheggout some amazing video on the Music page! |

With Billy out of town this week, and Brent away as well, The Grass Is Dead played the Thirsty Turtle in Juno Beach last night and were joined by Rich Friedman of Crazy Fingers on guitar, and Alan Martinke of Stonehouse on keyboards. Shaking things up a bit the music was fiery and the crowd loved it! It's always nice to throw a wrench in the mix for good measure every now and again. Although it was fun and jammin' as usual... the B's were missed and we look forward to their return! |

August 3, 2004
